JOB DESCRIPTION:

Diesel Mechanic

*****Job performed at Service Center in East Greeley and possibly at Coors Facility in Keenesburg*****

***Benefits start 1st of the month after 30 days. Dental & Vision paid 100% by employer for the employee only plan. Medical is paid at 100% after 12 months for employee only plan.

OUTLINE:

Diesel Mechanics should have basic knowledge of shop operation and the repair, maintenance and paperwork associated with diesel vehicles and fleet equipment. The mechanic should be receptive to guidance as well as training and mentorship by the supervisor. Like supervisors, mechanics shall be respectful of their supervisors and co-workers and will be required to show up on time and prepared to work.

In all tasks, the mechanic will be required to set safety as the priority and apply those principles personally and to their respective team members.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include, but are not limited to:

Lead by example
Enforce stop work authority
Safely work in all-weather environments
Enforce and abide by company safety policies and procedures
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines and other parts of vehicles and equipment
Do routine maintenance, oil changes, battery checks, checking fluid levels, lubricating equipment and parts
Raise trucks, heavy parts, or equipment by hydraulic jacks or hoists
Adjust wheels, tighten bolts/screws and attach system components
Replace malfunctioning components, parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment
Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment
Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and operate smoothly
Review vehicle/fleet equipment inspections forms
Understand the basics of equipment operation
Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Must have own tools
Two (2) years of previous mechanic experience in the oilfield industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid CDL A/B
Diesel engine certifications
Brake certification

PROJECT DUTIES:

Conduct DOT Annual Inspections of company fleet in compliance with maintenance schedule and certification dates
Review fleet inspection forms on daily basis
Complete company paperwork accurately and timely
Perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently
Flexibility and patience with working with employees and supervisors regarding fleet repairs/maintenance
Ensure truck, trailer and equipment is repaired to specifications prior to releasing into service
General cleanup of shop on daily basis
Maintain parts inventory
Attend all safety or company meetings, as required
Work in all-weather environments

Follow outlined metric for establishing individual growth and promotion opportunity

Follow all HSE performance and cultural initiatives
Keep copies of training certifications and work with supervisor to assist him to schedule to avoid a lapse in your certifications
Perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently
Be respectful of team members. Your role deserves respect, but you must be worthy by working hard and keeping your team safe
Be punctual and prepared for the day
Freely communicate your input to supervision on each job/task and do so respectfully
Report all accidents, incidents, near-misses and safety violations to your supervisor immediately
Show knowledge of safety policies
Show initiative in improving current standard operating procedures, safety rules, company policies or any observed inefficiencies
